Inspiration

we got our inspiration from many different sources mainly existin music videos we decided that from the list that we chose from there were elements that we liked from each we liked the fact that all of the videos had a narrative such as the video for Wake Me Up When Sepember Ends which told the story of a couple so we decided to use that put put our own slant on it this is a convention of rock music videos which helped us decided to use a narritive in our video we liked the fact that in the Coldplay song The scientist was in reverse so we used an element of that in our video. Also some films helped us decide on the storyline that we were using such as Fever Pitch http://www.imd.com/title/tt0332047/ which has a storyline similar to the one in which we used.

Storyline

This has a very basic storyline of the lead singer is with a girl, he cheats on the girl she finds out, she leaves him, they miss each other, they get back together

questionaire summary

From looking at the results of the questionaire i have discovered that we need to film in a variety of different locations in the local areas. The video must be filmed in colour and there must be a band made up of both male and female members. The main focus must be on a Make-up/Break-up situation. If we stick to these specifications then the end product of a video will meet the wants and needs of the target audience.

Final song choice

The song we have chosen to use is Theory Of A Deadman - In The Middle the reason we chose this song is that it has never had an official video created for it so our ideas will be purely our own with only influences from other videos also it has a potential to be moulded into whatever idea we choose for it. It is an emotive song so we will create an emotive story to go with it that the audience will be able to relate to.

Description

breif description of the videos we have considered:

Nickleback - Hero

This video is used to promote the film spiderman it does this by changing from shots of the band to clips from the film. The song itself give the feeling of hope, ambition but with an underlying tone of doubt as to wether those tings actually exist.

Lostprophets - Rooftops

This video splits from the band playing on a roof and shots of teenagers going about their lives this song seems to be anti-authority as the teenagers included in the video seem opressed in various forms and are encouraged to take control and stand up to themselves. There is a clear narrative to ths video.

Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends

This video tells the story of a couple who start off very happy and then the man joins the army and they argue but they stay together in between the shots of the couple there are shots of the band playing. This video has a very clear narritive and is there as a protest against the war. It is a very emotional video as is wrote about the singers dad who died.

Theory Of A Deadman - In The Middle

This song does not have an official video but the song allows to be able to put a narrative to it easily. It is a sad song and gives the impression of a choice to be made or somthing has been lost it would be interesting o see an official music video for this song.

Cold Play - The Scientist

This video is different from the rest that i have looked at as the majority of this video is in rewind it starts at the result of what happens and then travels in rewind to what caaused the result all the while singing about "going back to the start" this video is prehaps there to remind people that not everyone gets second chances and has a somber feel to it.
